About Our Cabo Sportfishing Charters

Captain Jason Bailey tried his first Cabo San Lucas fishing charter with Top Anglers over twenty years ago. He quickly fell in love with sport fishing in Cabo based on the similarities between it and trolling for salmon and trout. 

 

He and Top Anglers founder, Captain Victor Vargas, became close friends over the years.  They both love sportfishing, good food, and treating charter guests like family.
 
Captain Jason decided to become a partner in the fishing business after his first trip to Cabo San Lucas. He wanted to share his love for fishing and the sea with others. Nothing excites Jason, Victor and the crews at Top Anglers Sportfishing more than getting charter guests on the fish.
 

Jason has fished in California, Nevada, Montana, off the coast of California, and in far off places like Tahiti.  He has guided many anglers to catching trophy fish in freshwater and saltwater.
 

He currently serves on the Pro Staff Team of Bluefin USA. As a professional angler, he spends a lot of time researching and testing new offshore gear and strategies to catch fish.

Victor was born in Mazatlan, and began his professional sportfishing career at a very young age with Starfleet, which is still in business.  Victor moved to Cabo San Lucas in 1991 and Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters Cabo was created. 
 
In those early days, there was no diesel fuel available in the marina, so it was hauled to the marina in barrels in the back of Victors pickup. 
 
Victor also currently serves as Vice President of the Baja California Sur State Sport Fishing Association.
