Cabo fishing report for week of July 19, 2026
The Cabo San Lucas fishing action was outstanding this week, with our crews finding big yellowfin tuna, an excellent marlin bite, and impressive numbers of sailfish.
Big Yellowfin Tuna in the Mix
Large yellowfin tuna were one of the week’s major highlights. Several of our guests battled powerful tuna that tested both their tackle and endurance. These hard-fighting fish provided some of the most exciting action of the week and added another dimension to an already diverse Cabo bite.
Blue, Black and Striped Marlin Action
The marlin fishing continued to impress, with our guests hooking into several big blue marlin throughout the week. These larger blues delivered the explosive strikes, long runs and aerial displays that make Cabo one of the world’s premier big-game fishing destinations.
Striped marlin were also active, giving our anglers additional opportunities to experience Cabo’s famous billfish action.
One of the week’s most memorable moments came when Top Anglers Managing Partner Jason Bailey hooked into a black marlin while personally hosting a group of guests. Encounters with black marlin are always special, and the hookup added another exciting chapter to an exceptional week on the water.
Multiple Sailfish Releases
The sailfish bite was equally impressive. Several of our boats found groups of active sailfish, with some catching and releasing multiple fish during a single trip. Their speed, acrobatics and aggressive strikes created nonstop excitement for our guests.

Cabo fishing report for week of June 21, 2026
Fishing in Cabo continues to deliver outstanding action as summer patterns begin taking hold. Water temperatures have been steadily warming, blue water has moved into many of the offshore grounds, and anglers are enjoying excellent opportunities for striped marlin along with increasing numbers of dorado, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna.
Striped Marlin
Striped marlin remained the star of the show this week. Multiple boats reported seeing several fish throughout the day, with many successful catch-and-release trips featuring one to three marlin. Live bait presentations continued to produce the best results after raising fish on teasers, while trolling also generated steady action. The Pacific side, the 95 Spot, and areas toward San José have all been productive.
Dorado (Mahi-Mahi)
Dorado fishing continues to improve as water temperatures climb. Most fish have been found around floating debris, current breaks, and scattered bait schools. While many of the fish have been in the school-size range, some nice larger bulls are still hitting, and we expect the bite to strengthen throughout the coming weeks.
Yellowfin Tuna
Yellowfin tuna have been somewhat inconsistent, with schools appearing one day and becoming difficult to locate the next. Boats willing to cover water and stay with working birds have found opportunities, although the tuna bite this last week has been less reliable than the marlin action. As water temperatures continue to stabilize, we expect more consistent yellowfin fishing heading into July.
Wahoo
Wahoo continue making their seasonal appearance, providing exciting opportunities for anglers trolling lures. While not every boat encountered them, several crews enjoyed quality hookups this week, and the outlook continues to improve as summer progresses.
Inshore Fishing
Roosterfish remain one of the top inshore targets along Cabo's beaches, with jack crevalle, snapper, and other reef species adding plenty of variety for anglers looking to stay closer to shore.
Conditions
Overall fishing conditions have been excellent. Calm mornings, comfortable seas, and warming water temperatures have created ideal offshore conditions for both experienced anglers and first-time visitors. Bait has been plentiful, and fish activity continues to increase as summer settles into Baja Sur.
Looking Ahead
The next several weeks traditionally mark one of Cabo's most exciting transitions of the season. We expect increasing numbers of dorado, improving yellowfin tuna action, continued excellent striped marlin fishing, and more opportunities for blue and black marlin as larger fish begin moving into the area.

Cabo Fishing Report – Week Ending June 14, 2026
Cabo Sportfishing Heats Up as Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo & Marlin Deliver Outstanding Action.
Fishing in Cabo San Lucas was nothing short of exceptional this past week, with anglers aboard Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters enjoying some of the hottest action we've seen so far this season. Yellowfin tuna continue to dominate the offshore scene, with one of our charter boats putting together an incredible day on Saturday, June 13, landing 30 yellowfin tuna. Schools of football-sized tuna have been abundant, providing steady action and plenty of bent rods throughout the day.
Another Top Anglers charter experienced what can only be described as a true Multi-Species Smash, boating two wahoo, multiple dorado, and a half-dozen yellowfin tuna during a single trip. Days like these are exactly why Cabo remains one of the world's premier big-game fishing destinations.
Dorado fishing continues to impress as well, with anglers encountering some exceptionally large fish. Several impressive bull dorado have been landed by our anglers this past week, showcasing the quality of fish currently moving through local waters.
Striped marlin action remains consistent, with our boats continuing to raise and release fish throughout the week. These acrobatic billfish are providing exciting opportunities for anglers seeking the ultimate offshore experience.
Water conditions remain favorable, bait concentrations are strong, and the overall offshore bite is firing on all cylinders.

Cabo fishing report for week of June 7, 2026
June is beginning to deliver the variety that Cabo is famous for, with anglers finding action both offshore and along the beaches. While periodic wind and rough-water days created some challenges, boats that were able to get on the grounds found a mix of striped marlin, dorado, tuna, wahoo, roosterfish, and even the occasional blue marlin.
Offshore Fishing
The large size dorado bite remained the headline attraction this week with most of our anglers getting on some nice fish. This bite should continue to get even better as the water temperatures continue to increase.
We caught and released a number of striped marlin as well and also expect the bite for these to continue to get better with most of them being in the 100-120 pound class.
Yellowfin tuna action was very scattered but encouraging, with some boats finding schools of fish offshore. Wahoo also made occasional appearances, providing bonus opportunities for our crews trolling offshore along the temperature breaks.
Inshore Fishing
Roosterfish continue to be one of the brightest spots of the fishery. Our inshore anglers are seeing excellent action, including several trophy-class fish. For visitors looking for a hard-fighting gamefish without making a long offshore run, the roosterfish bit seems to be getting better and better as the days go by.
Jack crevalle, and a few other inshore species also provided steady action for light-tackle anglers working structure and bait-rich shorelines.
Water Conditions
Sea conditions were mixed during the week. Winds and some rougher than usual water made fishing a bit of a challenge overall as we waited to see what the Port Captain would do with potentially closing down the port. Water temperatures generally ranged from the low-70s to low-80s depending on location, creating favorable conditions for a wide variety of species.

Cabo fishing report for week of May 31, 2026
Fishing conditions off Cabo San Lucas remained excellent this past week, with our charter guests enjoying steady action on a variety of prized gamefish. The highlight of the week was the consistent mix of dorado (mahi mahi), striped marlin, and wahoo, providing anglers with plenty of excitement and full fish boxes.
Dorado fishing continued to be one of the most reliable bites. Schools of mahi mahi were found around floating debris, and current breaks, with many of our guests landing multiple fish throughout the day. Bright colors, acrobatic jumps, and hard-fighting runs made these fish a favorite among families and first-time anglers alike. Most dorado ranged from 10 to 25 pounds, with a few larger bulls mixed in.
Striped marlin activity remained strong across several productive areas offshore. Our crews reported numerous marlin sightings, raised fish, and successful releases throughout the week. Anglers trolling a combination of teasers and rigged baits were rewarded with multiple opportunities at these iconic billfish. Several boats experienced double-digit marlin encounters, making for memorable days on the water and plenty of exciting photo opportunities.
Wahoo also made an impressive showing this past week. These speedsters were found along temperature breaks and deeper offshore areas, where high-speed trolling techniques produced excellent results. Known for their blistering first runs and razor-sharp teeth, wahoo remain one of the most sought-after species in Cabo, and our guests were thrilled to put several quality fish on the deck.
Weather conditions were generally favorable, albeit a bit breezy. Water temperatures remained ideal for the mix of pelagic species currently available, and bait concentrations continued to attract both marlin and other gamefish throughout the region.
As we move deeper into the season, anglers visiting Cabo San Lucas can expect continued opportunities for world-class sportfishing. Cabo fishing report for week of February 1, 2026
It was an outstanding start to February for the fleet here at Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters, with excellent conditions and plenty of bent rods both offshore and inshore throughout the week.
Offshore Action
Striped Marlin
Our boats enjoyed steady striped marlin action all week long. Most days saw multiple fish caught and released. The bite was particularly strong 12–18 miles off the beach, where we found active bait and aggressive fish moving through. We had several memorable encounters, including some bigger stripers pushing well into the triple digits.
Yellowfin Tuna
Yellowfin tuna fishing continued to impress. We put our anglers on a wide range of fish, from school-sized 20–40 pounders to much larger tuna in the 150–200+ pound class. The Gordo Banks and surrounding areas were especially productive, with many of our trips landing quality fish for the box while still releasing plenty of others.
Wahoo
The wahoo bite stayed consistent for those willing to put in the time trolling high-speed lures and fishing live bait on the banks. Punta Gorda and Iman Bank produced some standout catches, including fish in the 50–60 pound range, keeping things exciting for our crews and guests.
Dorado (Mahi-Mahi)
The Dorado bite continues to be wide open! Our boats found schools throughout the week, with multiple double-digit fish making it to the deck. On one memorable trip, our team helped anglers nab multiple bulls at around 30 pounds.
Inshore & Nearshore Fishing
Inshore fishing remained solid for light tackle enthusiasts.

Cabo fishing report for week of January 26, 2026
This past week delivered excellent and diverse fishing for anglers aboard Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters in Cabo San Lucas. Water temperatures held steady in the mid-70s, and generally calm seas, cool mornings, and pleasant afternoons created ideal conditions for both offshore and inshore anglers.
Offshore Fishing Action
Offshore, striped marlin remained the highlight of the week, producing consistent action across multiple days. Many of our boats experienced multiple hook-ups, with fish successfully released after exciting battles at the transom. While striped marlin dominated the bite, there were still opportunities at blue marlin for crews willing to work productive current lines and deeper water. Overall, billfishing remained strong and reliable — a classic winter pattern that Cabo is known for.
Yellowfin tuna were present as well, particularly for boats that ventured farther offshore in search of bait and temperature breaks. Anglers landed several quality fish in the 20–30-pound range, making for great action and excellent table fare. Dorado (mahi-mahi) were more scattered, but we are still catching a lot of bull dorado in the 25-35 pound range, providing fast and colorful action. A few wahoo also made appearances for our anglers trolling high-speed lures and baits.
Inshore & Nearshore Fishing
Closer to shore, the inshore bite remained steady and exciting, especially for roosterfish which is very out of the norm for this time of year. Our inshore boats were easily hooking up roosters in double digit numbers within a few hours with some really nice size ones in the mix. In addition to roosters, anglers found jack crevalle, bonito, and other small game species around structure and bait schools, making half-day trips both productive and entertaining.

Overall, it was a well-rounded week on the water for Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters, offering something for everyone — from big-game billfish hunters to families and inshore enthusiasts looking for fast inshore action.
