U.S.A. History Made at Panamerican Sportfishing Championship
On November 23–24, at the legendary Tropic Star Lodge in Piñas Bay, Panama, Jason Bailey of Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters Cabo played a key role in making U.S. sportfishing history at the Panamerican Big Game Fishing Championship. Competing against elite teams from Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, and Venezuela, Team USA captured its first-ever medal in the event with a bronze finish — a milestone not only for the country, but for the anglers and brands representing American sportfishing at the highest international level.
As Managing Partner of Top Anglers Sportfishing, Jason Bailey proudly represented both the United States and the company on the world stage, helping lead Team USA through two days of intense competition in some of the most productive offshore waters in the world.

The team and Miss England led Team USA’s larger team of 12 anglers across four boats on both days of competition — setting the tone, building momentum, and anchoring Team USA’s historic performance against world-class competition.
World-Class Competition in Legendary Waters
The Panamerican Championship is one of
the most respected international big game fishing events in the hemisphere, and Tropic Star’s waters lived up to their long-standing reputation. These fisheries demand excellence — in skill, preparation, and execution.
There is no room for error when fishing against countries with decades of big game dominance. Every hookup matters. Every decision counts. And against that level of pressure, the Miss England team stayed composed and focused — performing when it mattered most.
One of the key winning fish caught by the team aboard Miss England during the competition was a blue marlin weighing approximately 550 pounds that put up and incredible and hard-fought battle for an hour and forty-five minutes on day one by Mike Peterson. The catch instantly boosted the teams points aboard Miss England and would help propel them to the bronze medal. Zach Miller further pushed the team's rankings by hooking up and releasing multiple sailfish.

game sportfishing at the Panamerican Championship.
