May 7, 2025 – Cabo San Lucas, MX — In a testament to their reputation for expertise and success on the water, Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters has been selected by VI Lures to test a new line of prototype offshore fishing lures in Cabo San Lucas. The collaboration highlights the growing influence of Top Anglers in the sportfishing world and underscores VI Lures’ commitment to product innovation through real-world, high-performance testing.
VI Lures, known for their premium, handcrafted trolling lures, is developing a new series designed specifically for big game species. Rather than relying solely on lab tests or internal trials, the company turned to Top Anglers Sportfishing—an established charter and tournament fishing operation with a reputation for results.

Bailey and his team are already putting the prototypes to work, running them during charters this week targeting mahi, tuna, and billfish in the waters of Cabo San Lucas. Preliminary results are said to be highly promising, with strike rates exceeding expectations in both clear and mixed water conditions.
The partnership also reflects a growing trend in the sportfishing industry: collaboration between top-tier anglers and manufacturers to co-develop gear that meets the demands of serious fishing crews. By bringing real-time feedback from the deck to the design table, VI Lures aims to create products that not only perform, but dominate.
