Team USA Big Game Fishing Looks to Make a Splash on World Sportfishing Stage

Jason Bailey, managing partner of Top Anglers Sportfishing Charters in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, has been selected to represent the United States at the upcoming Panamerican Big Game Fishing Tournament this November at Tropic Star Lodge in Piñas Bay, Panama. Widely regarded as one of the world’s premier sportfishing destinations, Tropic Star holds more International Game Fish Association (IGFA) world records than any other lodge on the planet.

Originally from Visalia in California’s San Joaquin Valley, Bailey is a graduate of Fresno State University. His unique path has taken him from the Central Valley’s agricultural heartland to the helm of one of Cabo’s most respected charter operations. Under his leadership, Top Anglers Sportfishing has become known for world-class offshore experiences and conservation-minded angling.
“The Panamerican Tournament is where some of the best anglers in the world test their skills in one of the greatest fisheries on earth,” Bailey said. “Representing Team USA—and bringing my Central Valley roots and Cabo sportfishing experience to Panama—is both a privilege and an honor.”

The Panamerican Big Game Fishing Tournament is sanctioned by the Panamerican Sportfishing Federation and features national teams from across the Americas. Anglers target marlin, sailfish, and other pelagic giants in a catch-and-release format that emphasizes sustainability while preserving the thrill of international competition.
Bailey’s selection to Team USA reflects his deep knowledge of billfish fisheries, his competitive success, and his role in promoting competitive sportfishing as both a cultural and international bridge.
